Canadian Trade Mission

The health care sector in the GCC has shown tremendous growth recently and is expected to keep growing at a very strong pace for years. In total we are talking about 11 bn$ being invested as we speak in new health related projects.

The trade mission organized with the World Trade Center in Montreal will bring about 15 companies working in various fields related to health care. These companies will introduce theirs products and services to key decision makers in Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai from the 18th of March till the 25 of March.

Alexandre Teodoresco got interviewed on Radio Canada to discuss the debt situation in Dubai. He explained to Jean Sébastien Bernatchez, host of the economic show, that Dubai, despite the financial difficulties it faces, is well positioned for a strong recovery.

Alexandre Teodoreso, has been interviewed by Christiane Charette earlier this week while he was holding a conference in Lyon on business opportunities in the Middle East. He shared his view on how the debt repayment delay by Dubai World might affect business in general.

It’s that time again in the middle east. The summer is over, Ramadan is over, Eid is over now it’s back to business and that means that we are working hard on organizing the next trade missions to the Gulf. We encougage you to contact us in order to see if you could participate in the upcoming Canadian Trade missions.

We are currently working on potential missions for the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia on sectors such as construction, energy, medical, IT, industrial.

Again, despite the current global crisis and the downturn in the region, the Canadian trade mission has been a great success. Some of them are in talks with different groups regarding future orders. Many of the companies are planning a second trip in the next couple of months in order to do follow ups with prospects and clients. In general their innovative products were received very positively by local businessmen who are eager to start working with them.

The Canadian trade mission has arrived safely in Dubai and was greeted at the Address and the Palace complex by our staff. The multi sector trade mission has its week completely booked so not much time to unwind before jumping right into the action

Their week long schedule will bring them to Dubai, Sharjah, RAK and Abu Dhabi. They will have about 10 individual, prequalified meetings with pre identified prospects and potential partners. The trade mission will also participate in group activities such as  site visits on the Palm Jumeirah by Nakheel and Yas Island by Aldar and the official trade mission organized by the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi.

They will have the chance to meet with His Highness Sheick Saud Al Quasimi deputy ruler of Ras Al Khaima . The trade mission will also have the chance to get a presentation from the new Economy Planning Dpt in Abu Dhabi to have a better understanding of the 2030 Vision.

Following the success of the first trade mission in mid-April, another trade mission is coming to assess business opportunities in the UAE. This trade mission is organized by the RECOMEX ( Association of Trade Commissioners of Quebec).

This trade mission is multi sector and will bring companies from all over the Province of Quebec. Actually four major regions are represented through their trade comissionners, including Montéregie, Mauricie, Centre du Québec, Longeuil.

The trade mission is under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development and will bring 8 innovative canadian companies to the UAE from the 2nd of May to the 10th of May.
